On our journeys through Great Britain we once discovered this tunnel at Grosmont station. This was a place where young George Stevenson did his first jobs as Inventor. For the horse tramway of the
Whitby & Pickering Railway he designed that tunnel which was built from 1830 to 1835. Today it is one of the oldest Railway tunnels which are still intact. As you can read there young Stevenson was scolded for his work because it seemed too expensive for the directors of this Railway company.
Due to its costly design it is a very nice piece of construction which can be a real attractor to your layout.
