99.73-76 Lößnitzgrundbahn
VIIK, old design
SDG, Epoch 6
At the end of the 1920s there was still a need in Saxony for powerful steam locomotives for the now numerous narrow-gauge lines. A 1'E1' narrow-gauge locomotive was also developed as part of the building principles for the standard locomotives. Between 1928 and 1933 a total of 32 locomotives of this then highly modern locomotive were delivered. 13 locomotives were manufactured by Sächsische Maschinenfabrik (formerly Richard Hartmann) in Chemnitz, 19 were built by Berliner Maschinenbau AG (formerly Schwarzkopff).
The machines have proven themselves well in Saxony, there are currently 14 of these locomotives in Saxony, about half of which are currently in working condition. They are used in daily service on the routes around Freital, Zittau, Oberwiesenthal and Radebeul.
